Day 11: welcome guests!
Below is an assessment activity we created to give students a chance to take pride in their work and allow each other to take the time and view the artwork created by their peers. To keep the students engaged we gave them the role of king and queens from another country that were on a mission to collect new fascinating artwork for their castle. The students walked around the Lab School art exhibit in partners talking about all the different art using english accents. After walking around the exhibit the class gathered on the floor of the gym and listened to each classmate that stood up wearing a royal cape talk about the artwork they choose and the reasoning for choosing it. For example AD chose a piece of art from the K-1 class that interested her because she felt the idea behind creating the art is what made it so special and the the artist who made it was trying to tell his viewers a message which AD then described what she felt that message was based on symbolism and color.
